Tacoma School Board approves agreement
In an effort to combat high dropout rates and improve academic success among the city’s low-income schools, the Tacoma School Board of Directors approved an interlocal agreement with the city of Tacoma and Metro Parks to establish Tacoma 360. Summer program wraps upwith special day at the zoo
Children who participated in the summer reading program through Tacoma Public Library (TPL) celebrated their achievement with a free afternoon of fun at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium on Aug. 22. They were treated to animal presentations at the Wild Wonders Amphitheater. As a special treat, they watched a performance of Nanda, a Portland-based troupe that combines elements of juggling, acrobatics and martial arts in their routines. Read more...
